Kilby Music is the online home of Steve and Penny Kilby and your source for the best in traditional Appalachian music. Our products and services
combine our love of traditional music with an eagerness to perform
and share it.
Steve Kilby's specialty is flatpicking guitar tunes such
as Black Mountain Rag, Alabama Jubilee, Sweet Georgia Brown, and
about 2000 fiddle tunes. Be sure to check out his CDs on our site. Bluegrass and Old-time music can also be
performed live for your special occasions.
We offer a great selection of pre-recorded lessons for individual tunes as well as special courses by mail. Another of our offerings is the new "Tune of the Month" program, in which guitarists receive instruction on a new tune every month.
We also offer instruction in guitar, mandolin, banjo
and bass in both individual and group workshop settings. Private
lessons are available in our Southwest Virginia studios Workshops for multiple
participants can be arranged for both academic and non-academic

| If you would like to record your music, we can also book the studio
and engineer the recording, supply studio musicians, make arrangements
of your tunes, or actually produce your entire CD or cassette project.
We also offer an entertaining and educational program ideal for
libraries, schools, churches, senior and civic groups entitled Echoes
of the Blue Ridge.
Kilby Music was originally formed as Alleghany Music
in November 1999. We changed our name to Kilby Music and began using www.kilbymusic.com
as our Internet domain name in 2003.
